Hi! I'm Amiel, and story is at the heart of what I do as an instructional designer. Part of storytelling involves simplifying complex concepts to deliver clear yet memorable experiences. It's a skill I've cultivated over 3 years in customer education and training at a leading HR SaaS company, and I still apply it today when crafting learning experiences.

Storytelling is also about staying curious. My background as a Fulbright-funded researcher abroad has given me the skills to interview subject matter experts and dig into the 'why' behind learners' needs. My time abroad, coupled with my 4 years of experience working at EdTech and HR software companies with clients across the globe, has also allowed me the opportunity to connect with people across cultures and explore diverse perspectives, a strength I draw from when making design and instructional decisions.

And just like how great stories change you, great learning experiences transform organizations and their learners. After mine, orgs are empowered to free up their time and streamline their processes to meet long-term goals while learners are equipped with the practical skills and knowledge they need to excel in their roles.

My Process

Lead with curiosity.

Digging up the surface of your organization's instructional issues isn't always enough since oftentimes, they go to the root. So I go for gold, asking detailed questions to mine straight to the heart of your organization's and learners' educational needs.

Commit to craft.

Magic lies in the details, so enchanting learners and sparking organizations' visions requires committing to craft. I demonstrate this commitment all throughout the ID process, regularly seeking feedback from stakeholders and strategically incorporating learning strategies and visual design to create quality instructional solutions.

Equity is a practice, not a buzzword.

Everyone, regardless of their ability or background, deserves great learning experiences, so I strive to create inclusive learning solutions that center the unique needs of the learners in the audience.
